Recently 300 million dollars in rebates has been available through The American Reinvestment Act. These rebates are for each state and are available for anyone with the energy star appliances. Installing energy star appliances for your old equipment can save up to 70% on energy bills. So you would get annual money back along with the rebates. Hopefully more rebates like this will appear to further encourage homeowners to improve to more energy efficent methods.
