A good first step

If only we could use less plastic and more recycled materials. Well, some of us do. After going to Denver for 3 days, I ate at a restaurant where the table clothes and straws were made out of recyclable materials. There are many restaurants and stores that promote recycling and saving energy. This is a wonderfully good thing.

Trees are Important Heroes and Killers

Everyone knows that trees are good for

the enviroment, and produce oxygen for the

atmosphere. They also absorb CO2. But, trees shed leaves

and it's a pain to pick up all those leaves. Believe it

or not, but all those leaves that trees drop are

healthy for your other plants or anything growing

underneath the leaves. When the tree sheds the

leaves, they fall on the ground or plants below.

During the winter, these leaves protect the

plants from snow, ice, and the cold.

However, there is a downside.

These leaves also protect

the plants from

the sun and kills

them. That's why

wind is important

in a plant's life... to

blow the leaves

off so it can live.

War causes problems, not solves them

War, it somehow solves our differences. Though, it hurts the enviroment, that is, the battlefield. Wherever it may be. Anyways, war solves silly stuff sometimes, and some mediocre not big problems. The bullet shells that get left behind from war aren't cleaned up, so an area that may have been untouched now is littered with bullet shells that take hundreds if not thousands of years to go away. Bunkers with barbed wire are left behind sometimes and pollute the once, a battlefield.

Video Games may save the world

Some people consider video games as bad news that do nothing but corrupt minds and turn them into psycho killers... quite the opposite is true. Because the atmosphere is not doing so great, people are becoming anxious and are starting to spread the word. Toyota had a contest to see whoever could make a level that informs about helping the enviroment with a Prius. Another way to help is to put out unnaturally caused forest fires. Little Big Planet 2 informs you to do this. Super Mario Sunshine is a game where you clean up oil (this sounds familiar) so an island city can be clean. In Super Mario Galaxy, there is a part where you have to blow up trash. This could all lead to a healthier planet, because kids played videogames

Natural Waste efforts

We make paper out of trees that are alive and well, but we do nothing with dead wood that is dry and dead. Why can't we make paper out of natural trash and dead paper? This could reduce waste in the water, and just general trash.

Potty Pork

You may have heard (Or Not!) in Taiwan, pigs have been potty trained to eliminate filthy runoff. These "potty pork" are cutting runoff by 80%.

the cigarrette hope

Because we don't recycle cigarrettes, or medical marijuana, I think that it would be possible to burn (or combust) these polluting dangers and run our cars on them! We wouldn't find any cigarrettes in the parking lot, and it's a lot better than to litter or throw them away.

The Unnoticed Truth

We all hope for a day when cars that run on trash will roam the earth, but do cars that run on trash completely problem free? NO! When we recycle, it reduces the amount of oil and fossil fuels that we use. When we stop recycling, and start using up more oil, that would probably double, if not TRIPLE the amount of oil we use. If we used cars that ran on water, the same thing would happen, because there is a lot less water than oil. Now, if they were to run on salt water, we could cause a lot of sea life to go extinct.

New nanocomposite magnets could reduce demand for rare elements

Can you guess who sells the most rare elements? If you guessed China, you're correct. Anyway, these new magnets contain smaller amounts of rare elements and increase magnetism in magnets. You can be expecting healthier, stronger, and new magnets soon.

Bad Beer Becomes Good Fuel

The caffiene induced beer, Four Loko, has been banned in many places due to not recycling, and it being horrible to the human body. Recently, a researcher in Virginia has discovered that this beer makes a really good biofuel. This could allow the company to still stay banned, but still make money, by selling to gas companies.

To Blackle, Or Not To Blackle

You may have seen or been to a Google owned website named Blackle. http://www.blackle.com/ This website is the opposite of Google, color wise. Blackle is not bright white, but a midnight black. This website has claimed to save energy by not using as many watts by displaying black instead of white. Other sources claim the opposite.

Sources say that Blackle does NOT work if you have an LCD monitor. In fact, it does the opposite! With LCD monitors, Blackle actually causes you to LOSE one watt hour. The only way Blackle works is if you are using a non LCD monitor.

Crosswalk and Power-up

This may seem silly, but why can't we power homes by using the buttons for crosswalks? It would provide a little bit of energy at a time, but because there are a lot of people using them at a time could create more power to power one third of the homes!

Save Paper

Homework. We all hate it. It's worse when it's off the internet. All of those trees are killed due to the internet and schoolboards. How do we stop the cutting down of trees? The World Wildlife Federation created a .wwf file that is immune to printing.

Tentacle Woman

If someone had tentacles for arms, you'd think there was something wrong, right? Well, a woman with one arm got a prosthetic recently, and instead of an arm, it's a tentacle. Tentacle prosthetics grip and function better than a makeshift hand.

Nontree Wood

We have achieved the ability to make plastics that are 70% to 100% plants. We have only been able to make paper that is only made out of trees. Instead of trees, why can't we use another more populant plant that we can use to make paper out of? Or wood out of recycled aluminum and plastic. Or, we could use cotton to make paper or wood, as they grow almost out of hand. Another good suggestion would be to use wheat for more than food.

Personal Flight

We've heard news of personal spaceships coming in the next ten years. Has anyone seen the price? Over 10 billion dollars! Well, the first personal spaceship launched today, December 8, 2010! If the price goes down, this could really evolve the way space travel is today.

antifreeze = antilife

Antifreeze. Believe it not, this stuff is poisonous. Pouring it on plants is deadly. Feeding antifreeze to your pets will make your pets go away- for good. If a human swallows it, that person will surly perish or be very sick. Make sure when handling it, to not swallow or get it in your eyes. Keep animals faraway to avoid a pet funeral. Do this handling in the driveway, so that only rocks or cement get wet if there is a splash. Don't just pour the antfreeze on the driveway, pour it in a bucket, or pan to avoid getting the man made poison in the sewers.

INFINITE ENERGY

Windmills work fine and dandy as long as there is - well- wind. Due to curiosity, I found a cool little desk object that continuiosly spins. I found the reason that this spins is there is a weight on the inside that through different forces, it spins. There is a magnet on the outside of the wheel that just sits around. Why not use this technology to keep windmills spinning non-stop? We could have these "wind" mills everywhere to produce energy!

Goofrigerator

Why can't refrigerators be smaller and cooler? Well, they have. There is a bio robot refrigerator that won second place in Popular Science's design contest. This refrigerator is a wall of green goo of polyesterine that will hold your food in place while it cools it. Things float effortlessly in the goo. Now, how do I find my lime flavored jello?

down the wrong or as I might call it, the right pipe

INHALABLE CHOCOLATE IS HERE!!! For those people that have been stuck with an inhaler, I feel sorry for you using that nasty stuff. Now, we have developed a way to put chocolate in the awful tasting things. Now you get a treat every time you take your inhaler, you won't be in misery. Lemon is also a flavor if you prefer that. UP NEXT: lobster flavored
